This video is an experiment to demonstrate what happens to water under a heat lamp. The glass on the left is bottled water, on the right is bottled water with a thin layer of mineral oil added (not unlike the oil layer of our tears). Over a span of 2 hours, notice how stable the water with oil is as well as how quickly the water alone evaporates. Patients with low oil suffer from dry eye because of what this video demonstrates.
